The Credit Crunch

Falling behind in anything in life can be trying… but falling behind on utility bills, mortgage payments, car loans or student loans can leave you feeling weak and often depressed.

Looking on the bright side of this dilemma you have to understand that no one is coming to snap you in two; no one is coming to cause you or your family harm. Put simply, someone will come to get their possessions back… wouldn’t you?

I mean, if someone wasn’t paying you what they owed you – wouldn’t you be just the slightest bit troubled? We all understand things happen, and sometimes you have to let people slide… even if just a little bit.

But do understand that the person on the other end of that phone (creditor) cannot have you arrested for not paying the debt, they cannot immediately begin to take your things. This often takes a few weeks if at all. Once you are notified that you are behind and need to step up payments – let the creditor know your situation.

Now, if that creditor or collections person begins to really harass you, or lies to you and tells you that jail is imminent, you do have a recourse and a real way to make them stop calling you altogether. There are laws about this type of behavior.
